TAYLOR'S ENGAGED!!

In an Instagram post just moments ago, Taylor Swift posted one sentence that sent fans into a frenzy:  "Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married."  ESPN's Adam Schefter, who also broke the news of a possible engagement ring purchase last month, appears to have dropped the story before any other entertainment site, posting: "On the day of hundreds of NFL transactions, the biggest one of all...Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift are engaged."

Love the flowers.

Jimmie Allen Wants Name Cleared

Jimmie Allen's court battle isn't over yet as he wants to clear him name after being found liable for sexual assault.   A judge found the singer liable for sexual assault charges this week, but Allen's representation says they're planning on asking the court to set that judgment aside. The singer was found liable by default after he missed several deadlines and failed to comply with court orders. Although Allen has denied all allegations against him, the judgment means he's forfeited the right to defend himself against the charges.  The charges stem from a woman accusing the country star of assaulting her in a Las Vegas hotel room and filming the encounter without her knowledge or permission in 2022.

Kennedy Center Honoree: George Strait

In his first turn as the chief of the Kennedy Center, President Trump decided to honor the King of Country Music George Strait, Gloria Gaynor, Michael Crawford, Sylvester Stallone, and KISS.  Earlier today the president announced his picks for Kennedy Center honorees and said that he will host the ceremony himself — a first for any president. The Kennedy Center Honors, which recognize lifetime achievement in the performing arts have been given annually since 1978 and are the highlight of the center’s season each December. The award is considered a career highlight for the performers who receive it. With more than 60 No. 1 hits on the country charts, George Strait holds the record for the most chart-topping singles by any artist in any genre.

MTV Adds Country Category to VMA's

The MTV Video Music Awards announced its nominees list this week and Country Music got a major win.  The show is finally giving the genre its own category. The VMA’s have been around since 1984 and this is the very first time for the Country Music category. (6) Country videos are in the running to win a trophy at this year's ceremony:

Chris Stapleton -  "Think I'm in Love With You"
Cody Johnson and Carrie Underwood - "I'm Gonna Love You"
Jelly Roll - "Liar"
Lainey Wilson - "4X4XU"
Megan Moroney - "Am I Okay?"
Morgan Wallen - "Smile"

Morgan Wallen is nominated in the all-genre Artist of the Year category.  “I'm the Problem” is the only country album nominated for Best Album. Jelly Roll is the most-nominated Country artist overall with 4 nominations. Ella Langley is only nominated for one trophy, but it's a big one: She's up in the all-genre Best New Artist category.
